2015 Fall YIC Residential Assistant (RA) Recruitment

The YIC Residential College (RC) is looking for responsible, enthusiastic students with leadership to work as Residential Assistants during the fall semester of 2015.

1. Recruiting Number

2. Eligibility and Preferences

   ◦ Yonsei Graduate School or Undergraduate(2nd~4th year) students who are currently enrolled or on leave

   ◦ Students who are motivated to promote RC Education with the spirit of service and outstanding leadership  

  ◦ Students with a minimum of a 3.0/4.3 overall average GPA

   ◦ Students who can live on campus (Working hours: Sundays-Thursdays 20:00~24:00)

   ◦ Students who can speak a foreign language (preferable for Aristotle or Allen House RAs), students who are confident with administrative work or OA programs (preferable for Administrative RAs)

 3. House RA's responsibility

    ◦ While residing in YIC dorm, a RA are expected to assist(counsel) and support RC students' community life as a mentor.

    ◦ Serve a role as a Residential Master's(RM) TA

    ◦ Plan, execute and operate overall RC program and respective house programs

    ◦ Attend regular(temporal) RA meeting and report students whom he is in charge of 

    ◦ Assist moving in/out to dormitory.

 4. Administrative RA's responsibility

   ◦ Execute RC Common Programs (Academic, Arts & Culture, Sports) held by the RC Center for freshmen students

   ◦ Assist the RC Center as TAs of the Head of the Residential College

   ◦ Assist other RC events and programs

 5. Remuneration and Benefits

    ◦ Scholarship: Working student scholarship (\1,800,000) + Dormitory fee (\932,000)

    ◦ RA Leadership Development course (2 credits, absolute grading) and RA Leadership Development Practice course (1 credit, P/NP)

 6. Application process

    ◦ Interview(Time and location TBA) : 2015. May. 30(Sat) ,Aristotle Interview :  2015. June 3(Wed) 19:00 

    ◦ Aptitude test(Online test for interviewees) :  2015. June 2(Tue) ~ June 4(Thr)

    ◦ Final announcement(Individual notice) : 2015. June. 9(Tue)

7. Forms and Submission Process

    ◦Submit an online application (Residential College Center website: http://yicrc.yonsei.ac.kr)

   ◦Submit photo and a scanned copy of the required documents (Transcript, Certificate of Enrollment)

   ◦ Applicants may express a preferred House (final assignments may be different)

   ◦ Applicants must apply separately for Administrative RA positions (cannot apply for both House RA and Administrative RA positions)

   ◦ Applications can be written in both English and Korean (applications for International Houses must be written in English

8. Schedule for Selected RAs (Required)

  ◦ Attend RA Leadership Development course (honors program)(for newly accepted RA) : 2015 August24(Mon)-2015 August 28(Fri)

  ◦ RA Leadership Development course(1credit, P/NP) : regularly during the fall semester

  ◦ RA move in (Hand in Health Diagnosis paper and MMR) : 2015 August 23(Sun)

  ◦ Overall RA Workshop : 2015 August 26(Wed), 27(Thr) afternoon
